NCEG 10th International Juried Enamel Exhibition
"celebrating innovation and tradition in the art of contemporary enameling"


September 6 - October 16, 2010

Statement of Purpose
The Northern California Enamel Guild (NCEG) Juried Enamel Exhibitions offer the opportunity to see the most contemporary and innovative enamel art that is being created. The exhibition includes functional and non-functional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional works that illustrate the wide scope of artwork created by the enameling process.

Important Dates
April 19, 2010  •  Deadline for entries

Submission of artwork has closed.

Eligibility
Artists do not have to be a member of NCEG to submit entries for jurying but must be a member to participate in the show. Eligibility of the artist's work includes:
Specifications
All work must be suitably prepared for installation.  Due to the gallery size, display of large works will be limited.   If you have questions about size or format please contact Anna Tai.

Awards
Three cash juror Awards of Merit will be given. In addition there will be several non-cash awards.

Digital Images
Digital Images are required for jurying. Work will be judged on the basis of digital images only.

Notification
Notification of jury results will be sent the week of May 10, 2010 by email.  If you do not have an e-mail address and wish to have your notification mailed, send a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with sufficient postage for the return of your notification to P.O. Box 254, El Cerrito, CA 94530.

Jurors
Marianne Hunter •

Marianne has been an Enamelist since 1967, and has shown and exhibited her work throughout the United States at crafts fairs and juried exhibitions. She is a current member of the Enamelist Society Board of Trustees.
Ana Lopez •

Ana is the Assistant Professor of Metalsmithing /Jewelry as well as the History of Crafts at the University of North Texas. She is author of Metalworking Through History: An Encyclopedia (2009, Greenwood Press). She coordinated the Enamelist Society's 2005 Fusion exhibition in Columbus, Ohio. She has exhibited nationally and internationally.
Gretchen Keyworth • Gretchen is the Fuller Craft Museum’s Director Emeritus and Chief Curator. In 2008, under her direction, the Museum originated the exhibition, Edge of the Sublime, Enamels by Jamie Bennett. Keyworth co-founded Signature Galleries and Grohe Glass Gallery and has also served as director or advisor for several prominent craft shows, including Crafts at the Castle, CraftBoston, and Fine Furnishings, Providence. Prior to her appointment at the Museum, she served as Director of Cultural Promotions for the City of Boston’s Office of Cultural Affairs.

Insurance and Liability
Artists are responsible for transportation and insurance of accepted work to and from the exhibition. The NCEG and Lireille assume no responsibility for damage or loss while work is in transit.  Work will be insured while on display at Lireille with the exclusion of any damage due to acts of God.

Sales
Artists will determine the retail (selling) price of each piece on the application, keeping in mind that Lireille will receive a 50% commission if work is sold.

NCEG Membership
Artists are invited to join the NCEG at any time through the Membership tab on this website without entering the exhibition.
