NCEG 11th International Juried Enamel Exhibition

Statement of Purpose
The Northern California Enamel Guild (NCEG) Juried Enamel Exhibitions offer the opportunity to see the most contemporary and innovative enamel art that is being created today.
The exhibition includes functional and non-functional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional works that illustrate the wide scope of artwork created by the enameling process.
Work is chosen for its melding of technical excellence and content, and for daring to push the boundaries of the medium.

Submit Entry Form
Submission of artwork is online only. Go to the
Entry Form and select the images to be entered.
Eligibility
Artists do not have to be a member of NCEG to submit entries for jurying. Eligibility of the artist's work includes:
- Enamel (vitreous glass fired to metal) must be the focus of the work;
- Only original work produced within the last two years (2010-2011) is eligible; student work is encouraged;
- Only accepted work that is shown in the submitted digital images will be exhibited;
- Each entrant can submit one, two, or three pieces for the single entry fee of $25 for NCEG members or $35 for non-members.
Specifications
All work must be suitably prepared for hanging or installation.
Awards
Three cash juror Awards of Merit will be given. In addition, there will be several non-cash awards.
Digital Images are Required for Jurying
Work will be judged on the basis of digital images only.
Digital Image Guidelines:
- Images must be submitted online in the Entry Form.
The images submitted must in jpg format at 300 dpi with the longest dimension between 5 and 7 inches (1500-2100 pixels).
- One image for each entry is required. A second image of a entry may be submitted for details.
- The NCEG and Richmond Art Center reserve the right to use submitted digital images for publicity and educational purposes.
- Digital images of work in the show will be kept for the NCEG slide library.

Notification
Notification of jury results will be sent the week of May 4, 2012 by email.
Jurors
- Merry Lee Rae - lives and works in Freedom, CA. She sees herself as a dedicated romantic. Her cloisonné jewelry is her voice.
- Martha Banyas - has worked primarily in enamel since 1972. She was a full time faculty member at Mt. Hood Community College and has taught enamel workshops in the U.S., Canada , and Japan. Since 1973, she has participated in numerous one-woman and group exhibitions worldwide. She has traveled extensively in Asia and Eastern Europe since 1981. She has been a full-time studio artist since 2005.
- Nancy Servis - is a curator and currently is the Executive Director of the Richmond Art Center, Richmond, CA. She has taught at the University of California, Davis; the California College of the Arts, Oakland, CA; and Solano College in California.
Insurance and Liability
Artists are responsible for transportation and insurance of accepted work to and from the exhibition. The NCEG and the Richmond Art Center assume no responsibility for damage or loss while work is in transit. Work will be insured while on display at RAC with the exclusion of any damage due to acts of God.
Sales
Artists will determine the retail (selling) price of each piece on the application, keeping in mind that the RAC will receive a 50% commission if work is sold.
Not for Sale work (NFS) will also be accepted.
NCEG Membership
To participate in the exhibition, you do not need to be a member of the NCEG. However, any artist is invited to join the NCEG at any time through the
Membership tab on this website without entering the exhibition.
